Thereabouts is a family-friendly vacation rental just steps from one of the world's most beautiful beaches. This isn't the Bahamas of casinos and five-star hotels, but the real Bahamas: gorgeous beaches, snorkeling on tropical reefs, world-class fishing, lounging in the sun and, perhaps best of all, solitude.

Thereabouts was one of the first houses constructed on this pristine beach, and has just undergone a complete renovation. The flexible layout features two bedrooms with additional sleeping available in the great room, which can accommodate eight comfortably. There are three full bathrooms (plus outdoor showers) and a modern kitchen.

Thereabouts is situated on the most desirable section of Winding Bay—one of Eleuthera’s best beaches. Just a few yards from “the cut”—a tidal connection to nearby Half Sound Bay and in the lee of Joseph’s Cay, the pink sand beach at Thereabouts slopes gently into gin-clear warm water and remains free of eel grass and other flotsam.

For many years Thereabouts was not available for rental, but now the Eaves family is preparing to share their Bahamian hideaway.
